Underwater Text

Step 1

Open a new RGB document of 300x300px or any other size.

Use Filter –> Noise –> Add Noise with these settings:

Step 2

Yor’re going to use the chrome filter now.

Filter –> Sketch –> Chrome

Step 3

It’s time to write your text. Use a bold font and apply some blending options, I used stroke and Bevel and Emboss to get to this:

Step 4

Hit CTRL-E to merge the layers.

Now apply Filter –> Stylize –> Extrude and fill in these settings:

Step 5

The next Filter you have to use is Glass (Filter –> Distort –> Glass) to make it look like water

You may want to experiment with the scaling settings, the other settings should be applied as shown below.

This is what you will get:

Step 6

Now hit CTRL-U and pick a color for your image, i used these values to get a water like color:

There’s your underwater text effect:
